2 Cars - a Windows Phone game with twice the challenge

2 Cars is a fast paced Windows Phone game that could drive you a little crazy. It's a racing game where you have to control two cars at the same time collecting certain targets and avoiding others.

Controls are simple, game play plenty challenging and 2 Cars does have a slight addictive quality. We were tipped by several readers about 2 Cars and after tinkering with the game for the past few days, it comes across as a decent time waster of a game for Windows Phone.

The design and layout for 2 Cars is rather minimal. Your main menu offers options to play the game, view the help screen, rate the game in the Windows Phone Store and mute the sound.

Game play is equally minimal with two cars that will race up the sides of your Windows Phone screen. Both cars have two lanes to travel and to switch the cars from lane to lane, all you have to do is tap the respective sides of the screen.

The goal of 2 Cars is to collect the circle targets that will appear in the cars path and avoid the square targets. The further you progress in the game, the pace will pick up.

Overall Impression

2 Cars is a simple arcade styled game for Windows Phone that isn't without challenge. The game will test your skills of timing, coordination and concentration.

There is a slight addictive quality with 2 Cars that keeps you pulled into the game for short bits of time. I'm doubtful the game could hold up to marathon gaming sessions but for shorter periods, it does nicely.

I did experience a slight lag time with the game that did get a little frustrating. Nothing to pull your hair out but noticeable.

The game is a free title in the Windows Phone Store so you won't be out anything but the time it takes to install to give 2 Cars a try. It's currently yielding a rating of 3 Stars in the Store, which apparently is due to the lagginess the game can exhibit.

Also, please note that there is a similar game on iOS and Android from another developer, which isn't available in the Windows Phone Store. We had received a few requests to review this version of the game and decided to see what all the excitement was about.
