Acer bolsters its Aspire lineup with new AiO desktops and notebooks

Acer bolstered its Aspire lineup with some new all-in-one (AiO) desktop PCs and powerful notebooks today at an event in New York. Included are two new AiO PCs — one of which includes Acer's fanless cooling system — and four new notebooks.

On the desktop side of things, Acer took the wraps off of the Aspire U27 and Aspire Z24. Both machines pack Intel's 7th-generation Core processors with up to 32GB of RAM. With a 27-inch 1080p display, the U27 includes Acer's LiquidLoop fanless cooling system for quiet operation. Windows Hello is also supported via the built-in webcam. The 24-inch Z24, on the other hand, differentiates itself with NVIDIA GeForce 940MX graphics. Both machines include v-shaped metal stands that look fairly stylish.

The new Aspire notebook lineup, on the other hand, is led chiefly by the Aspire 7. It includes NVIDIA GTX 1060 graphics, up to 32GB of RAM, up to an Intel Core i7 processor and an HDR webcam. The Aspire 7 is available in either 15-inch or 17-inch varieties with a textured aluminum cover.

Sitting just below the Aspire 7 is the Aspire 5, which likewise offers up to Intel Core i7 processors. The focus of the Aspire 5 is turned towards a "media heavy lifestyle." Up to 20GB of RAM are available with the Aspire 5, along with NVIDIA GeForce graphics (the exact chip isn't specified). Acer says the Aspire 5's 15.6-inch IPS display provides accurate colors at wide viewing angles, while its TrueHarmony tech should deliver "lifelike audio" with two digital microphones.

Rounding out the bottom of the range are the Aspire 3 and Aspire 1. The Aspire 3 is available in 14-inch or 15.6-inch varieties, while the Aspire 1 only comes with a 14-inch option. Both include fairly entry-level internals with options for Intel Celeron or Pentium processors — though the Aspire 3 also includes options for Intel's Core processors.

As for availability, the Aspire U27 and Z24 are due in North American in May and June for $1,099 and $899, respectively. The Aspire notebooks will be available from June at prices ranging from $219 to $799.
