Why the Samsung Xpress M2835DW is best

The Samsung Xpress is just an all round great printer. Sure, you sacrifice color, but for most print jobs is that necessarily worth the added expense?

PC Advisor has a lot of great things to say about it:

We've tried to find fault with this printer, but it really has been difficult. Print quality is strong, the design is generally fantastic, and all of the features work exactly how they should. When a laser is this effective and this thoughtfully put together, it seems churlish not to give it our highest accolade.

Samsung hardware is highly regarded across the wide range of products it makes, and in this case this printer even looks pretty smart. Whether in the home or the office it's not going to look out of place.

Ultimately, this is a solid, no-fuss printer with the connectivity you need, an affordable price and great performance and efficiency. And Amazon Dash support for getting new toner. Which is awesome.

This well-priced printer from Brother is a close second to the Samsung, offering a solid balance of price and performance.

From Wirecutter:

The HL-L2340DW prints pages for cheaper than its peers, is easier to set up, and will work with just about any modern laptop, smartphone, or tablet.

You'll fit 250 sheets in its tray and crank out prints at 27ppm. And if you get it from Amazon it's Dash enabled for easy toner replenishment.

Bottom line: Reasonably priced and packed with features.

One more thing: Getting from Amazon means you can use Dash for seamless toner replenishment.

This laser printer from Dell is a pretty bland-looking affair, but it's not designed to look pretty. This is an office workhorse.

From TechRadar:

Print quality is 600dpi by default and you can up it to 1,200dpi, print speed is a claimed 35ppm, it holds up to 350 sheets and the drum lasts for 85,000 pages. It's not remotely pretty but it's a pretty good office printer.

It lasts a long time between toner changes, churns out at a pretty swift rate and with adjustable dpi you've got options to make your documents look sharper, or save resources.

Bottom line: Boring to look at, but a workhorse for the office.

One more thing: Adjustable dpi means you can decide just how sharp your prints are.

If you're looking for something that'll print in color then you'll need a higher budget and something like this excellent printer from HP.

From Trusted Reviews:

Print quality is generally excellent. Black text comes out crisp and dense, with no spatter, while solid colours are bright and don't suffer any banding. Colour photos are well detailed, if a little on the dark side. The M252dw looks smart, too, and features a versatile wireless connection.

Throw in good quality monochrome prints on top of color work and the all important wireless connectivity and you've got a great all-rounder for all needs.

Conclusion

All of these are very good laser printers but the Samsung Xpress just has the edge. It's well priced, offers quality and efficiency and won't look out of place in the home or office. And if you get it from Amazon you can use Dash to replace your toner with no fuss. A great package all round.
