Burst an evil cat's hopes with Bubble Witch 3 Saga

Available for Windows 10 PC and Mobile, the free game sports colorful graphics and lively animations. Gameplay offers a fun test of your skills at strategy and steady aim, trying to create enough matches to solve each puzzle before you run out of turns.

Bubble Witch 3 Saga delivers 19 chapters full of puzzle levels to lose track of time with and overall, this Windows 10 game is a fun option to have tucked away on your PC or Mobile device.

When you first launch Bubble Witch 3 Saga, the game takes you through a short story illustrating how Wilbur, the evil cat, has kidnapped one of Stella the Witch's fairy friends. To rescue the fairy, Stella must solve a series of puzzles to defeat Wilbur and restore order to the magical kingdom.

The first level of play includes a series of tutorial boards that illustrate the basics of gameplay. As new features become available, additional tutorial boards appear. The goal of each puzzle level is highlighted before you jump into gameplay and includes a variety of objectives. These objectives include removing all the bubbles from gameplay, freeing all the owls that have been captured by the bubbles, guiding a lost ghost through the bubble field to reach its family and more. There are also boss battles in which you must release fairies from bubbles who strike out at the bosses.

The game screen has Stella and her collection of bubbles at the bottom of the display and the field of assorted colored bubbles spanning the top half of the display. Additionally, Stella's companion black cat is sitting at the bottom of the display and eventually produces power-ups that offer a boost in destructive power.

To reach the puzzle's objective, Stella must shoot her colored bubbles into the game field to create matches of three or more of the same colored bubble. When that happens, the matches burst and are removed from the playing field. Should you create a match deep into the field, any free-standing bubbles that remain below that match are removed from play. To shoot a bubble into the field, tap and hold the screen to pull up a targeting line, move your finger around to set up the shot and release the hold on the screen to shoot your bubble. Just keep in mind that you have a limited number of bubbles to shoot into the field (indicated at the bottom of the screen) and accomplish your goal.

Bubble Witch 3 Saga supports logging in with your Facebook account and synchronize game progress between devices. You also earn stars based on your score for each level that in turn can be used to decorate Stella's house. You can capture a screenshot of Stella's home front and share it with friends to brag about your gaming prowess.

Overall Impression

While gameplay is not much different that the average bubble-burst style game, Bubble Witch 3 Saga stands out a little from the pack. It shares the addictive quality that the developer's other popular gaming series, Candy Crush Saga, offers. The bright and colorful graphics and animations simply look good and gameplay offers a fun challenge to pass the time with.

The only nit I have with the game is that patience is needed between shots. All too often I would make an excellent shot, destroying multiple bubbles and Stella performs a celebratory dance. You need to wait until all the animations are complete before lining up your next shot. If you tap/hold too soon, the next shot is launched prematurely or spontaneously as the animations end. It's not a deal-breaker, but something to be aware of.

Overall, Bubble Witch 3 Saga is a great puzzle game that has plenty of gaming to conquer. It has plenty of features and gaming modes to keep things interesting and to avoid the game from growing stale too quick. If you need an enjoyable time waster, Bubble Witch 3 Sage is a Windows 10 game to check out.
