Dell debuts the Latitude 7285, a 2-in-1 tablet with wireless charging

Dell's latest 2-in-1 tablet, the Latitude 7285, certainly exudes all the flair you'd expect from a business-centric hybrid, but it has quite the secret up its sleeve: wireless charging. Curiously, it's not the Latitude 7285's itself that carries the claim to fame, rather all of the wireless charging mojo taking place through the 2-in-1's detachable keyboard using WiTricity's wireless charging tech.

As for the tablet itself, the Latitude 7285 carries a 12-inch 2880x1920 IGZO display, along with 7th-generation Intel Kaby Lake chips and either 8GB or 16GB of RAM inside. Storage comes in at up to 512GB with a microSD card slot allowing more, and the tablet is even Windows Hello-enabled thanks to its IR camera.

Dell says the 2-in-1 can fetch up to 6 hours of battery life in tablet mode, or up to 9 hours when attached to its keyboard base. Speaking of keyboard bases, there will be 2 types available, with one meant for extra portability and the other providing more key travel. When you're out of juice, you'll be able to attach the Latitude 7285 to its keyboard and set it on an optional wireless dock to start charging sans wires.

Availability for this one will start on May 30, and Dell says it will announce pricing at Dell EMC World that same month.
