MSI's gaming laptops get a boost with Kaby Lake and NVIDIA GTX 1050 graphics

Not to be left out of the Kaby Lake party, MSI has announced a sweeping refresh of its gaming PC lineup to incorporate Intel's latest chips. Alongside a bump up to Kaby Lake processors, MSI also has a nice graphics refresh in store for its laptops thanks to NVIDIA's recently release GeForce GTX 1050 and 1050 Ti graphics chips.

Between Kaby Lake's slight bump over Skylake, along with NVIDIA's latest graphics chips, the refreshed laptops should see a decent performance boost over their predecessors. In all, here's a look at the lengthy list of MSI's laptops that are being updated with Kaby Lake and GTX 1050 graphics options:

  • GS73VR
  • GS63VR
  • GS43VR
  • GE72VR

  • GP72VR
  • GP62MVR

  • GL72/GL62

As an added bonus, the GT83VR, GT73VR, GS73VR, GS63VR and GS43VR are all getting an audio boost with ESS SABRE HiFi tech. MSI also notes that "some" of its laptops will include Nahimic VR with 7.1 sound sound, which is intended to enhance VR audio for a more immersive experience.

MSI Desktops

Lastly, MSI notes that its gaming desktops are also in for a Kaby Lake boost. In all, its Nightblade, Trident and Aegis series desktop PCs are all getting the bump to Intel's latest 7th-generation processors.
