Panasonic's ToughBook CF-33 is a ruggedized tablet built for the great outdoors

Making its debut at MWC 2017, Panasonic's new ToughBook CF-33 is a Windows 10 tablet that's ready to take on the great outdoors. The ruggedized tablet offers just about everything you'd expect from a modern 2-in-1, but with a bulky, protective twist.

The ToughBook CF-33 is available in 2 different models — with a keyboard or tablet only — weights in at around 3.3 pounds in tablet mode or 6 pounds with the keyboard attached. The cost of that hefty weight comes with the added benefit of being able to take just about any external impediment you can throw at it, including operating in heavy rain.

Other specs include up to 7th generation Intel Core processors, a 2MP front-facing camera and 8MP shooter, optional 4G LTE, and a bevy of ports ranging from USB 3.0 o HDMI and micro SDXC. The CF-33 also includes hot swappable batteries so you can keep going without running out of juice.

All of that will cose you, however, as the Toughbook CF-33 will go on sale in the U.S. in May ("2nd quarter" for Europe) starting at $3,499 for the tablet-only package, or $4,099 for the tablet and keyboard. Given that this is clearly targeted for outdoor business use, however, that's probably priced just about right.
