The ASUS ZenBook 15 packs a GTX 1050 into a svelte 2-in-1 convertible laptop

The smaller ZenBook Flip 14 rocks quad-core processing and an NDIVIA MX150 d-GPU, and at 13.9mm, it is the thinnest 2-in-1 with discrete graphics in the world. If you need a little more power however, ASUS also announced the ZenBook Flip 15. Let's take a look.

The ASUS ZenBook Flip 15 is a 2-in-1 convertible 15.6 inch laptop that packs a little more GPU power into the mix, rocking an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 GPU. You're not going to be running the most intensive games on ultra graphics, but it's a decent card for editing and light-mid range gaming. And hey, for a device this light and versatile, complete with i7 quad-core processing and up to 16GB of RAM, that's a lot of power and portability. It also comes with up to 512GB of SSD storage with a 2TB HDD expansion, designed with gamers, content creators, developers, and power-users in mind.

The ZenBook Flip 15 has a 4K touchscreen display with slim bezels, giving it a 79% screen-to-body ratio. It also supports the ASUS Pen for inking and drawing, which sports 1024 levels of pressure sensitivity. It's no Surface Pen, but it should be decent enough for light art and note taking.

The laptop itself comes with the company's signature circular brushed aluminium body, in silver and gray color options. Harman Kardon helped ASUS with their SonicMaster audio technology, which utilizes software features to deliver an amplified, "crystal-clear" sound.

The hinge mechanism supports 360 degree angles, including tablet mode, a tent mode for consuming media, and a regular laptop mode. The hinge is also metal, and has been torture-tested over 20,000 times to ensure reliability. It also comes with Windows Hello biometric finger print login, as well as infrared face scanning for seamless and secure access.

We don't have the pricing and availability information just yet, but we'll update here when we do! Stay tuned for all the latest information from IFA 2017.
