Automatic deal-finding service Honey working on Microsoft Edge extension

Honey, a service that helps you find the best deals on things you're shopping for online, is working on a browser extension for Microsoft Edge. Honey confirmed that the extension is in the works on Twitter, but there's currently no indication of a timeline for release.

Honey's main draw is taking the work out of tracking down coupon codes to save a bit of cash while shopping online. For example, the extension will automatically find and apply any applicable coupon codes at Amazon and of other sites at checkout. According to Honey, its service works at "thousands" of websites, ranging from Amazon and Sephora to Papa John's and Kohl's. For Amazon in particular, Honey has another trick up its sleeve: it will automatically show you the lowest price on a particular item among all of its sellers.

Honey already has an extension for Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Opera, so it's good to see one is in the works for Edge as well. That said, there's no timeline for a release. And given Microsoft's slow, but deliberate pace in releasing new extensions on the Windows Store, Honey users may be in for a decent wait.

Thanks to Clayton for the tip!
