It's by no means top-of-the-range, but the Samsung MU6300 is a stunning 4K TV. Connecting the Xbox One S to this display will allow you to take full advantage of Microsoft's new console without destroying the bank.

Bottom line: Great panel, low input lag with HDR gaming, and a good price ($499) when considering included features and technology.

One more thing: This particular series of TVs come packing Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and some other handy features.

Why the Samsung MU6300 is the best 4K HDR TV for the Xbox One S

The Samsung MU6300 series strikes a solid balance between affordability and advanced, next-gen visuals.

The MU6300 took our number one spot here as the best overall choice for the Xbox One S for a few reasons. Starting at around $499 for the 40-inch variant, it's incredibly well priced when one considers what this investment brings to the living room.

As well as 4K and HDR support, this display series from Samsung sports Color Drive technology for enhanced visual quality and offers solid levels of contrast and brightness. Not only do movies and media come to life on-screen, but also characters and action from the latest games.

Samsung's MU6300 is also available in 55-, 60-, and 65-inch configurations, with the option to bundle a 4K Blu-ray player and/or soundbar. It's worth noting that the 55-inch option is an IPS panel, while the remaining three are VA. Overall, a highly recommended purchase for anyone looking to pick up an Xbox One S. We'd recommend you go for the 50-inch variant at least to get the best visual experience with 4K.

Best OLED

The C7 series of screens by LG is part the company's 2017 line-up of displays. This panel (available in both 55- and 65-inch variants) is perfect for the living room and the Xbox One S. HDR, 4K, fast processor for interactive content, Dolby Atmos, and OLED technology ensure you're investing in a great visual experience.

Bottom line: OLED technology, sharp picture, solid visual experience. Well worth the asking price of $2,496.

One more thing: LG TVs are powered by the webOS operating system, previously used by HP on smartphones.

Best IPS

The highlighted 120Hz refresh rate is great for content that supports it, especially when it comes to smooth and responsive gaming. The IPS technology included allows for quite the wide viewing angle too, which is handy when sitting one of these units on a table in the living room with a small crowd gathered around. Not bad for $1,698.

Bottom line: They may compete on the console front, but Sony's TV line-up can work wonders with the Xbox One S.

One more thing: Sony has Android running on this series that opens up connectivity with Google's ecosystem.

Best Quality

LG G7

If money happens to be no issue, then we'd recommend the LG G7, the company's flagship signature screen. This 65-inch display is gorgeous and super-thin, and the overall package is aesthetically pleasing. From the glass-bordered bezel to the superb integrated soundbar, this premium signature TV truly brings HDR and 4K content to life thanks to the excellent picture quality. It's seriously jaw-droppingly good.

Bottom line: If you have more money than sense ($5,996), the LG G7 is the perfect addition to any home.

One more thing: Input lag can be an issue for hardcore competitive gaming, but this can considered a worthy compromise for that picture quality.

Conclusion

You really can't go wrong with a 4K HDR TV as many of the solutions available today will work wonders with the Xbox One S. That said, we feel the selection we've short-listed offer superb picture quality and the MU6300 is in our opinion the best TV in this segment for Microsoft's latest console.

While these TVs are the best you can purchase now when it comes to HDR and 4K, TVs with support for HDMI 2.1 will be coming out in the future. It may be worth holding out for these as they will unlock even better performance for the Xbox One S and Xbox One X. We'll update this buyer's guide once again when these displays start hitting stores.
