Best PC Settings for Anthem

What you need to play Anthem

Anthem, from EA's Bioware, is a gigantic game. Besides the fact that you'll need at least 50GB free on your PC to download it (not including all the patches), you need to have a competent gaming rig. To get the best graphics and see the least amount of lag and crashes, you'll have to do better than just "OK."

According to the Origin page for the game, you need to have the following minimum requirements to play Anthem on Windows 10 (you can't play on any version of Windows below that):

• Intel Core i5 3570 or AMD FX-6350 CPU.
• 8GB RAM.
• 2GB GPU RAM.
• At least an NVIDIA GTX 760 or AMD Radeon 7970 / R9280X graphics card.
• DirectX 11

However, it's recommended that you have the following specs:

• Intel Core i7-4790 3.6GHz or AMD Ryzen 3 1300X 3.5 GHz CPU.
• 12GB RAM.
• 4GB GPU RAM.
• At least an NVIDIA GTX 1060 or AMD RX 480 graphics card.

If you know anything about PC parts, you'll notice that the recommended parts are quite powerful, and therefore expensive. There's no reason to spend hundreds of dollars just to play a game. In our experience, Anthem looks and runs well even on lower settings, so unless you need your graphics to be ultra-crisp, you can optimize the game just by upgrading a couple of parts. The minimum requirements will do just fine.

What you need

For people with Intel builds, we recommend at least a Core i5-7400 processor since its the best combination of value and power on the market right now. As for a graphics card, the best option is without a doubt the NVIDIA RTX 2060, although you'll get more than enough value with the GTX 1660 Ti if you're on a tighter budget.

For those with AMD builds, the Ryzen 5 2600 will be more than enough to get you going on most games (including Anthem). As for a graphics card, we'd recommend the AMD Radeon RX 580 for those with the money to spare and the RX 480 if you're on a budget.

In general, if you want to play visual-intensive games on your PC, you're going to want at least 8GB RAM anyway, but there's nothing wrong with going up to 16GB.

How to make the game run better on your current PC

If you're having issues running Anthem and don't want to spend the extra money on parts, there are a few things you can do to improve the video quality. First, make sure all of your drivers are up to date. If you have an NVIDIA GPU, you can check if everything is up to date on the NVIDIA website or in the GeForce Experience app.

You can also change your display settings in-game. Just follow these steps:

1. Go to Settings.
2. Click Video.
3. Click Advanced Graphics Settings.
4. Go to the Graphics Quality field and turn it to Low. (That'll adjust a lot of the individual settings automatically.)

You can also adjust things like Vegetation Quality and Texture Filtering individually on the same menu. Turning a lot of these to the low settings will help if you're still having game trouble.
