Best USB-C Hubs for Surface Book 2 in 2022
Add some connectivity to your Surface Book 2.
Microsoft's Surface Book 2 is a modular laptop that has the power inside to replace your desktop PC. However, some people might not be satisfied with the port selection, which includes USB-A, USB-C, Surface Connect, and an SD card reader. The USB-C port does give you the option of adding an adapter or hub to the mix, opening up more ports and potentially delivering some power in the process, but it's picky and won't work with every option. To hopefully save you some hassle, I've rounded up a number of hubs here with which Surface Book 2 owners have found success.

HooToo USB-C with Ethernet
Why you can trust Windows Central
The Surface Book 2 is lacking an Ethernet port, but you can add one alongside HDMI and three USB-A 3.0 ports with this HooToo adapter (about $57). There is likewise a USB-C port that, when connected to a charger, can deliver up to 100W of power to anything connected to the adapter, including the Surface Book 2. I wouldn't expect this to replace the official Surface charger, but it should give you a little bit of extra power in a pinch.
Surface USB-C to HDMI
For those who need a reliable adapter to connect Windows Mixed Reality (WMR), this Surface-branded USB-C to HDMI adapter (about $40) is proven to do the trick. It supports HDMI 2.0 and is ready for a 4K display when not in VR, though the Surface branding does make it a bit pricier than other similar options.
uni USB-C to HDMI
Need a simple adapter that doesn't cost much but connects an HDMI display? This adapter from uni (about $20) has nevertheless a high build quality, with a braided nylon cable and a grippy texture on the sides of the aluminum body. It will support a 4K display at 60Hz and HDCP 2.2, and it works well if you're looking to connect WMR.
CharJenPro USB-C 7-in-1
This slim aluminum adapter from CharJenPro (about $70) comes with a microSD card reader, a standard SD card reader, HDMI (good for up to 4K at 30Hz), and three USB-A 3.0 ports. It does have an extra USB-C port for power delivery, which will help if you have more than a couple of devices connected that require a lot of power; just don't expect it to charge your Surface Book 2 very quickly while multiple peripherals are plugged in.
