Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Multiplayer Beta takes place in August [updated]

Today, Activision revealed the launch dates for the Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Multiplayer and "Blockout" Betas. The Multiplayer Beta kicks off August 3, 2018 on PlayStation 4, followed shortly thereafter by Xbox One and PC on August 10. In September, the Blackout battle royale experience comes to life, in a first-ever hands-on. It's unclear what date in September the Blackout Beta will start.

Updated August 14, 2018: The Blackout beta will start on September 10.

Full timings for the Multiplayer Beta are listed below for relevant platforms.

  • Xbox One and PlayStation 4 tests start August 10 at 1 PM EDT and end on August 13 at 1 PM EDT.
  • PC Beta early access starts August 10 at 1 PM EDT through Blizzard Entertainment's Battle.net platform.
  • PC Open Beta starts August 11 at 1 PM EDT and ends on August 13 at 1 PM EDT.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is being developed by Treyarch. Raven Software is helping with the console versions while PC development is behind handled by Beenox. The title is scheduled for release on Xbox One, PC, and PlayStation 4 on October 12. Those who preorder now can get access to the Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 betas.

According to the publisher, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 on PC will deliver a fully-optimized experience, which for the first time will be available exclusively on Battle.net, Blizzard online gaming service.
