Chime in: What's the first thing you'd do if you were in charge of Microsoft?

Whether it's Microsoft mobile strategy (or lack of one), Windows on ARM devices, the Windows 10 software update cycle, or Xbox first-party titles, there's no shortage of controversy surrounding the Redmond-based tech behemoth.

There's also no shortage of critics on the web more than willing to play Microsoft's armchair CEO, at least from afar and sometimes behind the cloak of anonymity. (Not sure exactly what an armchair CEO is? UrbanDictionary.com has an amusing definition.)

In the interest of uniting like-minded armchair leaders, and hopefully coming up with some good ideas, our fearless forums boss James Falconer put together a forum specifically for the purpose of collecting related thoughts, suggestions, and ideas for what Microsoft should do next — and maybe what it should have done already.

We created the Armchair CEO forum to provide everyone with a place to enter their thoughts, suggestions and opinions on what Microsoft should do next. What would you do if you were in charge!? Share your thoughts, plans and opinions right here! Please: Keep all threads productive, respectful and on-topic to the original post!

James Falconer

Putting on my Microsoft CEO cap, I'd say the company needs to go even more all-in on making both Android and iOS more Windows-friendly, and Windows user-friendly, because that's the best way to remain relevant in mobile, at least for now. Also, if I were Microsoft's chief exec, I'd order the entire company to read Windows Central constantly. And their families would also be encouraged to visit our site often.

Are you a Microsoft armchair CEO? If you could change one thing about the company today, what would it be? Or if you could go back in time like Marty McFly in a DeLorean, what would you change? Hit the link below to chime in with your thoughts or create a new thread of your own. You never know, Microsoft's real CEO might end up reading the thread …
