Dell's new Inspiron 15 7000 gaming brings MaxQ graphics and VR support

Dell has today announced the latest in its Inspiron 15 7000 gaming series of laptops, the 7577 and it's a pretty serious beast. We loved its predecessors for packing solid gaming performance inside a wallet friendly package. Among the configurations available in the latest version, it's the range topper that's most interesting.

Dell has used NVIDIAs new MaxQ technology to put a 6GB GTX 1060 GPU inside the Inspiron, which means not only serious gaming chops but also support for VR.

Other hardware to note is the Intel Core i7-7700HQ processor, room for up to 32GB of DDR4 RAM, a 1080p or 4K UHD display and up to 512GB of PCIe SSD storage. More impressive, perhaps, is that even with a GTX 1060 and a 4K display, Dell is claiming 7 hours of battery life from the Inspiron 15 7577. Obviously not when you're gaming.

The design of this year's model is a little more understated than its direct predecessor, with no more red grill on the back. There are still subtle red accents on the keyboard and trackpad, and if you're so inclined a vivid Beijing Red color for the lid.

What's also ultra pleasing to see on this year's model is support for Windows Hello by way of a fingerprint scanner embedded in the power button. Throw in Thunderbolt 3 USB-C, all the connectivity you could ever want and a precision touchpad, and you've got quite the laptop. We're looking forward to getting our hands on one for some proper testing, but for now, check out our first look in the video above.

Prices for the Inspiron 15 7577 start at $999, though at that price you'll be looking at Core i5 and GTX 1050 specs. It should be available on September 12, and for 4K display configurations prices will start at $1,449.
