The Division 2 Gamescom trailer offers bleak view of D.C.

Ubisoft's The Division garnered a pretty large following over the past couple of years, but the publisher is ready to raise the stakes with The Division 2. Set in Washington D.C., the game will once follow players as they deal with the chaos left in the aftermath of the game world's massive pandemic.

And things are bleak.

Featuring a narration that paints a picture of where things stand, the trailer offers a look at what D.C. may resemble in the event of such a large-scale catastrophe, dilapidated buildings and despair throughout.

Ubisoft is touting the game's 1:1 recreation of the city, along with the introduction of raids and new endgame systems that should mark improvements of over the original.

The Division 2 is currently for a March 15, 2019, release on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. Preorders are available on all platforms starting at $59.99, and you'll get access to the private beta if you buy in early.
