Long-Term Evolution (LTE) is a special variant of cellular 4G mobile internet connection that delivers the fast speeds. LTE has become a widespread feature in most modern smartphones, and in recent years, several tablets, laptops, and hybrid devices have had LTE technology integrated into them, too. The reason why it's important in today's world is because the ability to get work done no matter where you are is incredibly beneficial, and LTE lets you get online regardless of whether or not you're near a Wi-Fi connection.

It's extremely light at just 2.53 pounds (1.15 kg), making it a breeze to take out of the house and into the world. That lack of weight doesn't come at a cost of durability, either, as the device has gone through official military MIL-STD-810G stress tests and passed with flying colors. In addition, it has a solid amount of power, with its Intel Core i7-8565U processor and 16GB of RAM, making it ideal for any work tasks you'll need to dive into. Lastly, it has a crisp and gorgeous 14-inch display with fantastic color accuracy.

Overall, the LG gram 14 2-in-1 is one of the best laptop-tablet hybrids on the market, and if you don't mind the lack of LTE, you'll love it.

Alternatives to the LG gram 14 2-in-1

While the LG gram 14 2-in-1 is great, people who want or need LTE connectivity aren't going to be a fan of it. Thankfully, Microsoft's Surface line has excellent alternatives: the Surface Pro (2017) LTE and the Surface Go LTE, respectively. The Surface Pro (2017) LTE offers a comparable experience to the LG gram 14 2-in-1 in terms of power, and the Surface Go LTE is fantastic if you want something on the small side or if you need something more affordable.

Since the Surface Pro 6 currently doesn't have an option for LTE fans, people who want a Surface Pro with LTE have to stick with the 2017 model. That's not a big deal, though, because the Surface Pro (2017) is a great device. Even though it's a little old, it's still very capable of handling various tasks and even some light gaming, all while always being connected to cellular internet.

If you simply want something that emphasizes portability over power, the Surface Go LTE is perfect for you. It's light, easy to carry, and perfect for writing, drawing, or note taking if you rarely stay in one place for too long. Highly taxing tasks will be an issue for the Go, but at this price, the you definitely get what you pay for.
