Fresh Surface Pro 4 firmware update arrives with Windows Hello fix

If you've had problems with Windows Hello on your Surface Pro 4 recently, a fix is here.

Microsoft has issued a new firmware update for Surface Pro 4 devices, bringing along a single fix related to Windows Hello. Apparently, the last batch of firmware updates contained a driver update that left some users stuck with an issue that caused the Surface Pro 4 camera to stop working with Windows Hello (via Neowin). This update resolves that issue.

Here's a look at the official release notes from the Surface Pro 4 update history page:

  • Surface – System – 1.0.75.1: Surface Camera Windows Hello - 1.0.75.1 resolves Windows Hello experience error.

The firmware is labeled as being released on August 2, so it's entirely possible some machines have already grabbed the update. If you have yet to install it, you should be able to download the update now by checking for it through Windows Update.
