Microsoft is preparing Halo: The Master Chief Collection for its PC debut, bringing the five-piece compilation to Steam and Windows 10 PCs. After over a decade of exclusivity to Xbox home consoles, the game brings an all-new potential for the hit first-person shooter (FPS). Kicking off availability with Halo: Reach, the package is set to deliver a 4K HDR upgrade of the 2010 prequel.

While details on Halo: Reach's Xbox One and PC launch are limited, the full campaign, multiplayer, and cooperative Firefight mode will also make the transition. And now via a community Q&A, we know Halo: Reach's extensive armor customization systems are slated for a revival too.

Speaking on Reddit, Halo Community Director, Brian Jarrard, provided the following details:

First, we're happy to say that Halo: Reach in MCC will in fact have the same level of "mix and match" customization found in the original games (all the individual armor pieces, etc..). As to how it's earned, we are exploring a new and deeper progression system that retains the feel of the old systems and blends them with newer models for game progression (all based on in-game play, no type of monetization or anything of that nature)

Halo: Reach's armor systems remain a praised aspect of its FPS sandbox, allowing players to fine-tune in-game avatars via modular armor pieces. It's the most in-depth Halo customization system to date, with its return sure to please series fans.

Halo: Reach is slated to launch on both Xbox One and Windows PCs "later this year," as a part of Halo: The Master Chief Collection.
