Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is an incredibly challenging game, and a lot of the time you have to either upgrade skills or purchase items from vendors. However, the most difficult part of the title has to be the boss battles. A lot of the enemies attack rather slowly so it's not an issue, but sometimes you run into exceptions like Long-arm Centipede Sen'un.

Long-arm Centipede Sen'un is hiding in a dilapidated temple close to the Senpou Temple Grounds Sculptor's Idol. He's the next boss after defeating the Armored Warrior on the bridge. The only way to defeat him easily is to constantly block and build up the deflection meter. Using Gokan's Sugar also helps as it reduces your Posture damage, but it's not necessary.

You can follow the steps below to easily beat him in 30 to 45 seconds after you've initiated the fight.

  • Take out all of his minions on the ground and in the rafters. They don't have much health and can be dispatched with two katana strokes.
  • Run back out and let the boss reset. Next, sneak back into the temple and climb onto the rafters.
  • Once Long-arm Centipede Sen'un is unaware you're there, jump attack him to knock off one life bar.
  • Now, go to the enter of the room, before the statue, and wait for him to attack you.
  • Keep on pressing the Left Bumper (LB) on the Xbox One controller as fast as you can to block all of his attacks. This will build up his deflection meter.
  • His deflection meter doesn't go back down easily so if you're hit, you can always run away for a few seconds to heal.
  • Once in a while he'll use a sweeping attack which will be presented by flashing red characters in the center of your screen. To avoid this, simply jump.
  • Continue pressing LB as fast as you can to build up his deflection meter. Once it's reached, you can press Right Bumper (RB) to trigger an execution.
  • Don't use RB until the very end because he has a lot of health. There's no way to take it all the way down.
  • Killing Long-arm Centipede Sen'un will grant you crafting materials, but more importantly a Prayer Bead to increase your health.

It took us quite a while to figure out how to beat this boss, but once we did, it was rather easy. Hopefully this walkthrough will help you just as it helped us.

In our review, we said, "It's definitely harder than Dark Souls, but the sense of satisfaction you feel after defeating powerful titans is a reward in itself. The more you play, the stronger you become. The story and gameplay take you in new directions, but Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice's difficulty may limit its appeal. Unlike previous FromSoftware games, it lacks multiplayer so you can't summon allies to help you."
