Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is an incredibly challenging game, and a lot of the time you have to either upgrade skills or purchase items from vendors. However, the most difficult part of the title has to be the boss battles. A lot of the enemies attack without much force, but sometimes you run into exceptions like Corrupted Monk.

Corrupted Monk is lurking at the very end of Mibu Village. You can run past all of the enemies to get to him as they're quite slow.

You can follow the steps below to easily beat him in a few minutes after you've initiated the fight. Luckily, he only has one health bar so you just have to do it once.

  • In order to maximize damage, use Divine Confetti and an attack-power boost. During the campaign, you'll come across a number of candies that allow you to boost attack power, including some consumables that never run out.
  • Divine Confetti can be farmed from the blue samurai warriors in the Ashina Castle Antechamber.
  • Keep on attacking the Corrupted Monk and when he's about to make a powerful move, throw some Firecrackers to distract him. This will allow you to get in a few more hits.
  • Keep on using the attack and Firecrackers method until his health dwindles.
  • If you run out of Spirit Emblems, you can always use Ceremonial Tanto to sacrifice half your health for more. This will allow you to keep on using Firecrackers until he's completely dead.
  • Keep in mind that this is just the Corrupted Monk's astral projection, and you'll have to fight him again later on. Luckily, the same attack and Firecrackers method works then too.

It took us quite a while to figure out how to beat this boss, but once we did, it was rather easy. Hopefully this walkthrough will help you just as it helped us.

In our review, we said, "It's definitely harder than Dark Souls, but the sense of satisfaction you feel after defeating powerful titans is a reward in itself. The more you play, the stronger you become. The story and gameplay take you in new directions, but Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice's difficulty may limit its appeal. Unlike previous FromSoftware games, it lacks multiplayer so you can't summon allies to help you."
