Hulu now lets you stream live TV from your PC's browser

Just a couple of months after launching for mobile platforms and consoles, Hulu is ready to bring its live TV streaming service to your PC's browser. The company announced today that an early version of its live TV player for browsers is now available, bringing the service in-line with competitors like DirecTV Now and Sling TV.

In its blog post announcing the news, Hulu is quick to stress that this is a "very early" version of its browser player, but it wanted to get it into the hands of subscribers nonetheless. From Hulu:

To date, we've offered Hulu with Live TV on multiple living room and mobile devices, but we know many of you have asked to access our service on your laptops and computers as well. So rather than wait until we've finalized our new Web experience, we're opening up a basic version to Hulu's live TV plan subscribers so they can stream live TV via their browsers. That means, you can catch the big game, this morning's news or the premiere of "This is Us" wherever you are.

Given its early nature, you may run into a bug or two. You can expect the browser streaming experience to evolve over the coming months, however, as Hulu fleshes things out. For now, you can browse and watch all of Hulu's channel offerings, conduct searches, see what's coming on next, and even open multiple streams. That's in addition to Hulu's standard on-demand offerings that remain available.

Live TV playback is available via Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Microsoft Edge, and Internet Explorer 11 "on select operating systems," Hulu says. If you want to check it out, you can sign up for Hulu's live TV package now.
