Though they're getting a little long in the tooth, Microsoft is continuing to push new firmware updates to the Surface Pro 3 and Surface Pro 4. Today, the company released a fresh set of fixes for both devices, bringing improved battery stability to each while enhancing system security for the Surface Pro 4, specifically (via Neowin).

Here's a look at what's new:

Surface Pro 3

  • Surface UEFI – Firmware: 3.11.2550.0 improves battery stability for devices not in use.
  • Surface Embedded Controller Firmware – Firmware: 38.14.80.0 improves battery stability for devices not in use.
  • Surface Integration – System devices: 2.0.1350.0 improves battery stability for devices not in use.

Surface Pro 4

  • Marvell AVASTAR Bluetooth Radio Adapter – Bluetooth: 15.68.9125.57 improves system security.
  • Marvell AVASTAR Wireless-AC Network Controller – Network adapters: 15.68.9125.57 improves system security.
  • Surface UEFI – Firmware: 108.2318.769.0 improves battery stability for devices not in use.
  • Surface Embedded Controller Firmware – Firmware: 103.2241.256.0 improves battery stability for devices not in use.
  • Surface Integration – System devices: 1.0.176.0 improves battery stability for devices not in use.

Today's firmware updates come alongside the release of September's "Patch Tuesday" updates for Windows 10, which bring their own set of security fixes for everyone.

If you're still using a Surface Pro 3 or Surface Pro 4, you should be able to snag these updates now via Windows Update.
