Microsoft Sticky Notes adds full dark theme, faster syncing for Insiders

Sticky Notes is getting a lot of attention from Microsoft as of late. Beyond the major overhaul the app saw with its recent 3.0 update, Microsoft has also enabled syncing notes with the OneNote beta on mobile devices. Now, Microsoft is turning its attention back to the Windows 10 app with an update that brings a full-on dark mode and faster syncing between devices.

The update is available now as version 3.1 for Skip Ahead Windows Insiders. The new dark mode is the biggest outward shift here, expanding from the "Charcoal" color for notes that debuted with version 3.0.

The tweaks are small in comparison to Sticky Notes' previous update, which also brought a new home for notes and first introduced syncing across Windows devices. However, dark themes are always a popular ask for any app, so it's good to see a proper one added to the full Sticky Notes experience.

For now, Insiders enrolled in Skip Ahead should be able to check out Sticky Notes version 3.1 by grabbing the update via the Microsoft Store. If testing goes well, we should see the full dark theme rolled out to everyone before too long.
