Miramar map coming to PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds (PUBG) Xbox test server tomorrow

PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds (PUBG) players on Xbox will be able to get their first taste of the new Miramar map this week. A PUBG test server will be available for Xbox starting on April 24, where the new desert map will be available to play over the course of several days as part of a scheduled test, the PUBG team announced today.

"As the map is in an early stage of development, some aspects may not function as expected," the PUBG Xbox team says. "For matchmaking reasons, the test will be limited to TPP on NA servers. We might make adjustments to this depending on how the test goes."

Testing will take place over the course of five days in both the U.S. and Europe. Here's a look at the testing schedule:

U.S. (PDT) SCHEDULE

  • 4/25, 4/26, 4/27: Servers available 5pm PDT through 11pm PDT
  • 4/28 & 4/29: Servers available 11am PDT through 11pm PDT

EUROPE (CEST) SCHEDULE

  • 4/26, 4/27, 4/28: Servers available 2am CEST through 8am CEST
  • 4/28 & 4/29: Servers available 8pm CEST through 8am CEST

Throughout the test, the team is planning to divvy up "bug bounty" award as well: 150 players who report bugs will pick up some special "swaggy" in-game items.

PUBG is still in Game Preview on Xbox One, and it has lagged slightly behind the PC version in receiving new content. The battle royale game is arguably the title that kicked the genre into high gear, amassing tens of millions of players on PC and recently crossing five million on Xbox. Miramar, set in a desert location, is the game's second map and is expected to launch in full on Xbox One in May.

If you want to participate in the testing, the test server will be downloadable as "PUBG Test Server" starting at 12 a.m. on April 24. PUBG is available now for PC and Xbox One for $30.
