Square Enix has announced that its hit action role-playing game, Nier Automata, is finally releasing for Xbox One. Despite launch in early 2017 as a PlayStation 4 console exclusive, this latest version bundles together the base game and subsequent downloadable content (DLC) is a single package.

"Nier: Automata Become As Gods Edition" is scheduled to launch on June 26, 2018 – providing the first opportunity to play on Microsoft's console family. Priced at $49.99, buyers will receive the "3C3C1D119440927 expansion" DLC, alongside an extensive list of cosmetic skins. Otherwise, players should expect a core experience similar to existing versions.

After an army of extraterrestrial machines invades earth, Nier: Automata takes off with the post-apocalyptic ruins of the planet. With humans having fled to the moon in refuge from these otherworldly invaders, the planet is left to be ruled by evil machines. In a final attempt to reclaim Earth, humans send down combat-trained androids to survey the current state of the planet.

Playing as 2B and 9S, players will uncover the history behind Earth's invaders and how to return peace to the planet. We praised Nier: Automata on PC last year for its smooth combat, stylized open world and unique narrative.

Digital preorders for the game are set to kick off soon, via the Xbox One's Microsoft Store. There's no word of a physical disc version as of its unveiling.
