No Man's Sky to get weekly updates with unique missions and rewards

A few months ago, Hello Games surprised Xbox One owners by announcing No Man's Sky for Microsoft's platform. Better yet, the studio said that the title would feature Xbox One X enhancements and run at "4K Ultra HD" on the system.

One of the main issues a lot of gamers had with No Man's Sky on PlayStation 4 and PC was that it didn't feature a lot of replayability despite taking place in a supposedly infinite universe. To combat this, Hello Games is introducing weekly updates which add new missions and rewards. A new map which highlights where these events take place will also be will also be part of the upcoming update. Lastly, no microtransactions or loot boxes will be associated with this content.

No Man's Sky is a science fiction adventure set across an infinite universe, in which every star is the light of a distant sun, each orbited by planets filled with life, and you can go to any of them you choose. In this procedurally-generated universe, you'll discover places and creatures that no other player has seen before. However, a mystery lies at the center of the galaxy, an irresistible pulse that draws you on a voyage to discover the true nature of the universe.

The game is scheduled to launch on July 24, 2018. 505 Games is only publishing the physical version for Xbox One and Hello Games is going through the ID@Xbox program to launch the digital edition. Luckily, the preorder bonuses are the same for both versions.
