Rainbow Six Siege 'crouch spamming' fix in the works

Ubisoft has outlined plans to address "crouch spamming" and "lean spamming" in its hit tactical shooter, Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege. Recently dominating higher-level play, the developer has committed to resolving the issue, currently prototyping a solution.

The controversial tactic has gained traction in recent months, using the game's couch and lean mechanics to evade incoming fire. Although technically permitted, the move detracts from the core philosophies of Rainbow Six Siege's tactical combat. This follows the game's previous "drop-shotting" problem, fixed with the rollout of last year's Operation Para Bellum.

Community Manager for Rainbow Six Siege, UbiNoty, offered a formal statement on its plans to address the tactics, via Reddit.

Recently, we have seen a rise of players encountering abusive crouch and lean spamming. To counter this, the team is actively working on how we want to approach the problem and planning our next steps. We are currently prototyping a few systems to address this. More details will be shared about our exact methodology as we draw closer to a final version.

With Ubisoft now preparing its content offerings for Rainbow Six Siege Year 4, expect more details on the proposed system in the months ahead.

In the meantime, Ubisoft recently kicked off its "Road to Six Invitational" event, packing a new in-game playlist and the cosmetic "2019 Collection."
