Rainbow Six Siege 'Maverick' is an all-new blowtorch Operator

Ubisoft has recently been gearing up for "Operation Grim Sky," the next major expansion headed to hit tactical shooter, Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege. Two new Operators, a rework of Hereford base, and other content is in the pipeline, with a full reveal slated for August 19 during the Six Major Paris. After recently teasing the electrifying shield defender, Clash, we've now received a look at her partner.

As detailed in a post to the Rainbow Six blog, Maverick is a new attacking Operator from the U.S. Delta Force. The accompanying 48-second teaser provides a glimpse of the new Operator, showing his blowtorch tool in action.

This lines up with previous reports on the Operator, where data mining uncovered blowtorch references in game files. Rainbow Six brand director, Alexandre Remy, also previously stated that a new breaching role was being explored, making Maverick a likely alternative to Thermite and Hibana.

Although today's reveal only provides a tease of Maverick's skillset, we expect more details on August 19 during the Six Major in Paris. Alongside the new Operators, expect a breakdown of Hereford V2, the new recoil system, and other changes.
