Razer will open its own gaming store in San Francisco on May 21

Razer has a reputation for high quality PC gaming accessories, including mice, keyboards, and more. Those accessories are definitely premium products though, often costing a bit more than other brands. It'd be nice to have a place to see and try them all out before buying. Soon that will happen, as Razer will open its first US-based RazerStore in San Francisco this month.

Store features

Razer Store Thailand

The San Francisco-based RazerStore will be two stories tall and cover approximately 1,300 square feet. Some of the products it will feature include computer systems, peripherals, audio equipment (headsets, sound bars, and more), clothing, and gear.

The store will offer more than 20 gaming stations equipped with the latest hardware from Razer and its partners. These will feature both PC and console set-ups. Presumably the consoles will just be Xbox Ones since Razer does not offer PlayStation-specific products.

A boutique store like the RazerStore needs something to draw the eye. Razer will accomplish that via a 16-foot by 9-foot streaming video wall that displays gameplay and other content (presumably advertisements) that can be seen both inside and outside of the store.

Visitors to the store can "stay all day" and play games on Razer's gaming stations. The RazerStore will also run regular weekly gaming events onsite.

About the location

RazerStore Manila Philippines

RazerStore grand opening in Manila, Philippines

The San Francisco store is not the first RazerStore. Razer has already launched stores in Taiwan, Thailand and the Philippines last year.

With the success of those locations, the company is finally ready to open a store on its home turf in California. Technically Razer's Carlsbad office is about 7 hours away from San Francisco, but San Francisco is definitely one of the prime tech spots in both the state and country at large.

Min-Liang Tan, Razer co-founder and CEO, explains:

"San Francisco is a unique global epicenter of creativity, technology and entertainment, and it's our home town, so creating a phenomenal environment for gamers here was a very special endeavor. We are happy to say that the SF RazerStore foots the bill in every way, and we are excited to open our doors to our fans in the Bay Area."

Like other RazerStores, the San Francisco location will provide a place for gamers to meet and engage with each other while experiencing what high-end gaming products can offer. The weekly gaming events (should they be successful) will drive the store's social experience.

Opening a store without a celebration would be like playing games without a decent setup. Fun, but not as fun as it should be. Naturally RazerStore will have a celebration throughout is opening weekend. Visitors will be able to win Razer mice, keyboards, headsets and more.

The new RazerStore will be located in the Westfield San Francisco Centre at 865 Market St., San Francisco CA 94103. That's between Market St. and Mission St, near the Moscone Center where GDC takes place every year. Doors will open to the public on Saturday, May 21 at 10am PT.
