Red Faction: Armageddon and 2 more games come to Xbox backward compatibility

Microsoft has added a trio of new games to the Xbox backward compatible list today. The latest additions include the likes of Red Faction: Armageddon, GYRUSS, and Raiden IV.

The highlight of these latest additions is Red Faction: Armageddon. The game is a third-person shooter that sees players taking control of protagonist Darius Mason as he tries to save humanity from extinction at the hands of an alien race on Mars. Red Faction: Armageddon is available on the Xbox 360 marketplace for $30, but the game will go free in August as part of that month's Games with Gold.

GYRUSS is a classic arcade shooter title that packs in a total of 23 levels that take you from Neptune to Earth. The game packs a single player mode, as well as online multiplayer for two people. This version also includes leaderboards, as well as 12 achievements to unlock. GYRUSS is up for grabs for $4.99 from Microsoft.

Lastly, Raiden IV is another arcade shooter that pits players against waves of enemy squadrons with different weapons at their disposal. This one is available for $20 at Microsoft.
