Samsung's $1,700 Odyssey Z gaming laptop utilizes a specialized cooling system

Samsung has announced an all-new gaming laptop, the Odyssey Z, that's designed for everyday use as well. As you'd expect, it's powered by Windows 10 and packs a 15.6-inch display, LED-backlit keyboard, Intel i7 Hexa-core processor, dedicated NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 graphics card, along with 16GB of RAM and a 256GB SSD. There's no shortage of specs inside this thing, but the one thing that makes it stand out is likely its looks. At first glance, you may think it's pretty average, until you look at the keyboard placement.

The keyboard sits all the way forward instead of its usual rear placement. This is due to the Z Airflow cooling system that it uses. The Odyssey Z has dual internal fans that blast cool air through the system to prevent any overheating, even under heavy gaming loads. You can dial the fans back using the Silence Mode so that it doesn't sound like your laptop is about to take off in public places.

It's available starting today for $1,799.99 from Amazon, Microsoft, and Samsung directly. Looking for something a little smaller in size? The Razer Blade Stealth has similar specs but with a 13-inch display and comes in at $1,500.
