Siri shortcuts roll out to Microsoft Edge for iOS

Not long after hitting beta testers, Siri shortcuts are now rolling out for everyone in Microsoft Edge for iOS. The latest update also brings along some general performance improvements, along with quick actions and top sites from a browser widget on the "Today" screen and quick action shortcuts from within the app itself.

One of the biggest features to land in iOS 12, Siri shortcuts allow apps to interact with Siri, using specific phrases to trigger a set of actions. In Microsoft Edge, this only includes opening the browser from your lock screen, but Microsoft may choose to add further actions in the future.

Here's a full look at what's new in this update:

  • Press and hold buttons in the bottom bar to see quick actions
  • Open the browser directly from the lock screen with Siri shortcuts
  • Use the browser widget on the Today screen to get to quick actions and top sites
  • When you reopen Microsoft Edge, choose to continue where you left off or start afresh with a new tab
  • Performance improvements

If Microsoft Edge is your browser of choice on iPhone or iPad, you can pick up all of these new features with version 42.6.3 on the App Store.
