Stellaris: Console Edition gets Q1 2019 release window on Xbox One

Following on news that popular strategy game Stellaris is making the jump from PC to consoles, publisher Paradox Interactive has given the title a release window: Q1 2019. That means Xbox One gamers aching to get a taste of the game will have to wait a bit longer, but a new trailer should help to sate appetites in the meantime.

Stellaris, initially launched on PC in 2016, is a grand strategy game in which players can explore the cosmos, engaging in battle and diplomacy with other species that you encounter along the way. For consoles, the experience will be customized to fit controllers. You'll also be able to pick up the game in a couple of different versions, ranging from the standard edition to the deluxe editions, which include access to upcoming expansions.

So far, Stellaris has seen relative success among PC gamers with more than 1.5 million copies sold. We'll see if that success can translate over to consoles, but the game's arrival on Xbox One will be a win for gamers aching for more strategy games to jump into.

We should get a more solid launch date in the coming months. In the meantime, you can give Stellaris a go on PC, currently priced at $16.
