Surface Laptop and Surface Pro now available and shipping around the globe

The new Surface Pro and Surface Laptop are both now available around the world. The latest additions to Microsoft's Surface lineup were initially unveiled in May and are now shipping in 25 markets around the globe.

Surface Laptop is Microsoft's first device with Windows 10 S, its version of Windows aimed at the education market. Windows 10 S is initially restricted to only downloading and installing apps from the Windows Store, but Surface Laptop buyers can get around that limitation with a free upgrade to Windows 10 Pro. The Surface Laptop is available starting at $999.

The new Surface Pro is a subtle evolution of its predecessor, the Surface Pro 4. The 2-in-1 tablet packs a slightly refined design and is powered by Intel's latest seventh-generation Kaby Lake processors. Alongside the new Surface Pro, Microsoft's new Surface Pen has also grabbed an update making it much more responsive with greatly increased pressure sensitivity and latency. The new Surface Pro is now available starting at $799.

Lastly, it's worth noting that Microsoft says that Surface Laptop's burgandy, cobalt, and graphite gold color options will be headed to 17 new markets in the coming months. All three were previously only available for order in the U.S., so this is good for those who prefer a little more variety in their lives elsewhere.
