State of Decay 2 is a co-op multiplayer game which forces you to survive in the wake of a zombie apocalypse. Players have to work together, build bases, and form communities if they wish to survive in this hostile land. However, the "Daybreak Pack" changes it up quite a bit on September 12, 2018. You're on your own this time around.

Today during Gamescom 2018, Undead Labs revealed that the download would put you in the shoes of a powerful "Red Talon" soldier in a "Horde Mode" scenario. You have to defend a location from much more aggressive zombies as time goes on. The longer you survive, the better rewards you get. It's a test of how long you can make it without dying a gruesome death at the hands of the undead.

Daybreak is very similar to what is available in titles like Gears of War 4, which popularized the mode. However, given the survival nature of the game, don't expect to use futuristic weapons and other devices. You'll just have to rely on standard weapons to make it through.

According to a report by IGN, when you die, you spawn in as another Red Talon soldier in a couple of seconds. Your "Community" members can't help you. Approaching combat through a tactical lens seems like the way to go here. Charging in as "Rambo" will probably end in disaster.
