Until Dawn developer's 'Dark Pictures Anthology' is coming to Xbox One, PC

Cinematic horror game "Until Dawn" was notably a PlayStation 4 exclusive, locking PC and Xbox One gamers out of what was a pretty fun, if terrifying, experience. But as developer SuperMassive Games prepares to release its next batch of games, collectively titled the "Dark Pictures Anthology," it's ready to bring everyone into the fold.

As reported by Eurogamer, SuperMassive is embracing the anthology format to explore a bevy of horror sub-genres. To step up to the task, the team has partnered with Bandai Namco to publish the game across Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Steam.

To kick things off, 2019 will see the first game in the series, called "Man of Medan." Like Until Dawn, Man of Medan follows a set of friends. But this time, we'll follow the group as the head out to sea to dive for treasure. However, they find a bit more than treasure when things go south and they find themselves trapped on a ghost ship.

There's no hard release date for Man of Medan just yet, but it's exciting to see SuperMassive expand its reach to Xbox One and PC for its anthology plans. According to the developer, it plans to release two standalone games per year as part of the anthology's run.
