Where to buy a Dell Inspiron 15 5570 replacement battery

Best answer: The best place to get a replacement battery for the Dell 5570 is BattDepot. Even Dell doesn't sell it!BattDepot: Battery for Dell Inspiron 15 5570 ($43 plus shipping)

Not even Dell has the replacement

Don't ask me why, but Dell doesn't have the replacement battery for the Inspiron 5570 available on their website. They have the replacement chargers but the battery itself is only available on BattDepot or eBay.

I don't like to recommend eBay for replacement parts as the availability tends to be hit and miss and I'd rather you get what you need reliably. If you're a satisfied eBay customer, I've seen them listed there and they are around the same price as BattDepot

Always check your warranty first

Before you consider buying a replacement battery for your Inspiron 5570, make sure your old one isn't replaceable under your warranty. Most warranties are for the first year as standard, so if your purchase is fairly new, it's definitely worth asking Dell's support team before you splash for a new one. Your battery should last you well over two years before degrading, so if you're having trouble with it reaching maximum charge or it seems to discharge faster than it normally does, you should check with Dell.

I normally charge the battery fully and time the length of time it takes to run down over the first two weeks. That way if my battery runs down faster than that average in the first year I can get a warranty replacement before it's too late and I'll have a new battery for another year.

There is a shipping cost

Amazon has ruined most other sites for me when it comes to shipping costs. Unfortunately, with no two-day Prime shipping, you will have to pay the $10 minimum shipping charge from BattDepot to get the replacement battery you need.

Fortunately, there are a few choices on shipping. The $10 is 4-7 days on FedEx ground but you won't be able to get it shipped to a PO Box. I would probably go for the USPS Priority shipping: it's $14.99 but should arrive at your house in 2-4 business days. It's not quite Prime shipping, but it'll at least get to you in a timely manner.
