Where should you buy Xbox Game Pass?

Why get Xbox Game Pass?

Xbox Game Pass is a new and revolutionary way to play games on your Xbox One. By paying either $10 per month or buying multiple months of membership at once, you can download and play a massive library of more than 100 Xbox games, from both the Xbox One-era and Xbox 360-era, as well as a few original Xbox games, too, thanks to Xbox One backwards compatibility. In addition, more games are constantly being added, and Microsoft has promised that all first-party exclusives will be on Xbox Game Pass on day one. This is a massive amount of value for quite a small price, so it's definitely worth investing in.

Xbox One X users will likely find Xbox Game Pass particularly useful because Microsoft also went back and updated many Xbox One and Xbox 360 games to be Xbox One X Enhanced, opening the door for the Xbox One X's graphical horsepower to make all games, new and old, look and play significantly better then they would on other Xbox consoles.

If you're planning on getting an Xbox One X this holiday, then I highly recommend purchasing Xbox Game Pass alongside it. And for now, Amazon is the place to buy it.

Why get Xbox Game Pass through Amazon?

Right now, Amazon is the better place to buy Xbox Game Pass because you can get a full year-long membership for $70 thanks to a holiday sale. You can only sign up for a monthly subscription to Game Pass on the Microsoft Store, and while it is true that the initial month of subscription is just $1 right now, every subsequent month afterward costs the full $10. By going through Amazon, you can get $120 worth of Game Pass for $50 less than the normal price, as opposed to the meager $9 you save by beginning a monthly-renewed subscription through the Microsoft Store and staying in it for a year.

The only reason you may want to buy Xbox Game Pass from Microsoft right now is if you want to try it out for a month. A full month of Game Pass for just $1 is a fantastic way to test out the service to see if its right for you. At the end of the day, though, there's simply a lot more value in buying from Amazon. It is worth mentioning that after these holiday sales, though, it doesn't matter where you buy Game Pass from because the price will be equal from both retailers.
