Xbox One 'Duke' controller now available on Microsoft Store

The original Xbox launched with a massive controller lovably referred to as the "Duke". The accessory was absolutely massive in terms of size, but surprisingly comfortable to hold if you had larger hands like me. As we all know, nostalgia is a powerful force, and Xbox creator Seamus Blackley teamed up with Hyperkin to release an updated version in 2018. For some odd reason gamers just can't get enough of the behemoth!

The controller features bumpers and other modern buttons which make it work seamlessly with an Xbox One. There's also a gorgeous OLED screen in the center which plays the original Xbox loading screen when you turn it on. Lastly, there's also "impulse trigger" support for games like Forza Horizon 3 and Forza Motorsport 7. This means that you can experience advanced rumble vibrations with the device.

Keep in mind that the updated Duke costs $69.99 and is a wired controller. You can't use it without cables on an Xbox One. Luckily, it comes with a 3.5 mm headset jack and a nine-foot detachable USB cable so you can easily use it from your couch. If you loved the original or want one for your collection, be sure to check out the Microsoft Store. Unlike other retailers, the store still has many in stock. I've been mostly using it to play original Xbox backward compatible games and reliving my college days. It's quite a blast from the past!
