The debut of the Xbox One X is rapidly approaching and as of today, Microsoft has kicked off preorders for the standard edition of the device. While at time of publication, preorders are only being taken in European markets, an expansion to the United States, Canada and more are around the corner.
Taking to the official Xbox account on Chinese microblogging service Sina Weibo (via MSPowerUser), details have finally surfaced on pricing, availability, and pre-orders of the upcoming flagship console in China. As promised earlier this year, Microsoft will be releasing the Xbox One X in China simultaneously to major western regions, on November 7. The device will be priced at 3,999 Chinese yuan, which roughly equates to 600 USD.
This is noteworthy given the Xbox One's history in China, where the original console debuted ten months after its initial release in the United States. Following a thirteen-year-long console ban in the country and an unexpected delay, Microsoft eventually debuted the Xbox One in September 2014. This shows continued expansion of the Xbox brand outside of its core markets, with a push for timely launches worldwide.
Preorders for the device will kick off on October 19, with another batch of limited-run "Xbox One X Project Scorpio Edition" consoles for the Chinese market. This will be followed by preorders for the standard edition, on November 1.
