XSplit VCam lets streamers add green screen effects without expensive setups

For the past few years, game streaming has really look off and content creators are always looking for new ways to enhance their appeal. However, if you're just starting out, purchasing professional-grade video editing software, especially programs designed to add effects, can be quite expensive. Luckily, there are solutions out there which cost a fraction.

Today, SplitmediaLabs — the developer behind XSplit Gamecaster and Broadcaster — launched "XSplit VCam." According to the team, "XSplit VCam acts as a green screen tool and is aimed at influencers and content creators, as well as businesses and schools, looking to give their videos a professional edge, without incurring the steep buying costs traditionally associated with the equipment that allows such quality."

If you want to stream, but don't have a professional studio setup, XSplit VCam acts as a utility that can be launched either by itself or through a virtual camera source. The software allows users to replicate a chroma key effect without the need for expensive studio grade lighting or green screens. Some of the features are listed below.

  • Quickly remove backgrounds.
  • Add animated backgrounds and websites to replace standard backgrounds.
  • Blur your background to hide objects.
  • Add depth-of-field effects.

If you're serious about streaming and want to use any of these features, be sure to give XSplit VCam a go. The XSplit VCam license is included with the "XSplit Premium Bundle." If you've already bought that, XSplit VCam will automatically unlock on November 16, 2018.
